PREREQUISITE:

AP EC 202 or ECON 211

   

OBJECTIVES:

 

General Objective: 

To provide an introduction to farm management and to explain the principles and tools that allow successful decisions to be made.

Specific Objectives:  

 

1.

To develop the strategic plan of a business

                        2.

To use economic principles for the choice of input and output levels of a production process

      3. 

To develop an enterprise budget, a partial budget, a whole farm plan, and an investment analysis to aid in successful decision-making.

     4. 

To construct a cash flow statement, an income statement, and a balance sheet.

                       5.   

To analyze the financial position of the farm business

Your grade in this course will be based on your performance on homework assignments, quizzes, two regular exams, and a comprehensive final exam. There will be no exemptions from the final. The weights for these items are as follows:

 There will be 10 Unannounced Quizzes. The lowest Unannounced Quiz grade will be dropped.
