Graduate study in the Department of Applied Economics and Statistics is much more than an extension of an undergraduate program and much more than the completion of courses. As a successful graduate student you will grow and mature as a professional. Through your studies you will acquire the ability to integrate knowledge from formal courses, research activities, independent studies, and other experience
A professional applied economist should have the ability to define and solve real-world problems. You will be expected to develop and demonstrate these abilities in courses, examinations, research papers, seminars, theses, dissertations and dialogues with faculty and other graduate students.
