Ag Center, EPA's OFfice of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.The EPA with the support of the USDA has developed this National Agriculture Compliance Assistance Center to provide a base for 'first stop shopping' for the agriculture community--one place for the development of comprehensive, easy-to-understand information about approaches to compliance that are both environmentally protective and agriculturally sound.

Economic Research Service

 Natural Resource Conservation Service --a Federal agency that works in partnership with the American people to conserve and sustain our natural resources. Many resources here, including:

Farm*A*Syst and Home*A*Syst, a voluntary partnership between government agencies and private business that enables individuals to prevent pollution on farms, ranches and homes using confidential environmental assessments.

The National Ag Safety Database from the Centers for Disease Control spotlights the safety hazards of manure storage facilities.

ManureNet -- from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada -- Lots of valuable information about waste management in animal agriculture for the Canadian Provinces, including: Codes of Practice, Acts and Regulations and a large technical section on anerobic digesters

Much of the research and information regarding animal agriculture comes from our Land Grant University system. Other state resources are included here, also.

North Carolina State University Cooperative Extension with many valuable resouces, including:

AWARE: Animal Waste Awareness in Research & Extension -- University of Georgia, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Some good publications and links to other sites.

Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, Manure and Odor Education and Research at the University of Minnesota:

Manure Matters Web Site -- a service of the University of Nebraska's Livestock Environmental Issues Committee. Home of the "Manure Matters" newsletter and Manure Matters Listserv. There are also number of publications of interest.
