GOALS

Facilitate and conduct innovative research projects whose results can be used by state and local leaders, agencies, and foundations to enhance prospects for regional economic development.
 

--Special focus on the impacts of national and global economic change on regional employment opportunities and quality of life.

--Special focus on the potential of alternative industries as sources of regional economic growth and development.

--Special focus on the influence of existing and proposed national, state, and local public policies and programs on regional economic growth and development

Establish a critical mass of expertise in regional economics, rural development, and urban planning using Clemson University faculty, facilities, and resources; and collaboration with researchers at other universities and government agencies
Serve as a focal point for requests from state and local governments, foundations, private firms, U.S. government departments, and private, nonprofit groups for research pertaining to regional economic development trends, strategies and policies.
