REDRL provides an integrated multi-disciplinary approach to research problems. Research programs conducted at REDRL are focused on two general issues:

Development Theory and Strategy:   Research directed at monitoring long-term or structural changes in the national and global economic environment and assessing the implications of these changes for regional economic development strategy and policy.

Development Policy Analysis:   Research directed at assessing the implications of specific public programs or policies on the immediate and long term prospects for local and state economic development.
